WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

The days top action was in the Under 14 N.E.W.F.A. Challenge Cup  and it was at its Round 3 stage.  There was a huge shock in store for competition favourites Borras Park Albion who were dumped out of the competition 6-3 by Llangollen.
 
Mold Juniors walloped Marford and Gresford Albion 8-1 and leading their haul with a four goal salvo was Will Higginson. Tom Mathews, Elliott Davies, Josh Roberts and Josh Davies strengthened their hold on the game with Albion netting through Ryan Williams and having Jack Cunnah being voted man of the match.
 
Mynydd Isa ended the dreams of Ruthin Town by winning this tie 3-1. On target was Jack Blundell with all three goals.
 
In the Under 12 League Section One, with Mold Juniors not on duty, Marchwiel United have taken over in poll positon of the Under 12 league section one with a stunni9n 5-1 in at Brickfield Rangers.  Dominic Williams notched four of the goals and the impressive Jack Edwards completing their nap hand.
 
Brymbo Lodge had a fine 4-1 success over FC Borras Rangers with strikes from Jake Dodd, Jack Mountford(2) and Matt Turner with Kane Thomas reducing the deficit. 
 
The dynamic Dean Williams weighed in with his customary brace but it could not stop his side from slipping up 4-2 at home to Acrefair Youth who caused a bit of a stir to win this encounter. Alex Pride, Owen Roberts and Tom May with a brace from Tom May.
 
Rhosddu United perhaps deserved better than a 3-0 reversal at home to Park Youth who were on target through Tyrone Hopson, Ian Jones and Hayden Jones.
                        
In Section Two, leaders Ruthin Town stay top after nailing Marchwiel Colts 11-0. Ifan Hafal led the avalanche of goals with a treble, Osian Davies, Iwan Davies and Tirion Roberts all weighed in with two goals apiece and Keiran Jones and Oliver Bradley-Hughes completed the rout.
                
Borras Park Rangers had to work hard to stay in the title frame and they just about nicked a 2-0 win at home to Rhos Aelwyd with strikes from Zac Degale and Thomas Duckett.
 
Chirk Youth were floored 8-3 by an impressive Llangollen.  Ben Wilson(2) and an OG, accounted for the hosts tally with Llan were on target through Pat Davies(2), Danny Weir, Alan Jones and Clive Thomas with a four goal salvo.
 
Borras Park Albion are still in the thick of things and they hit Coedpoeth for six, literally in fact. Replying for the hosts was Morgan Williams. 
 
Garden Village continue to go great guns and they clinched an important 3-0 success over Bala Tow, Adam Denoven added to an earlier brace from Steven Bielby.
 
There were several ra-arranged games, in the Under 13 league, Marford and Gresford Albion defeated Brymbo Lodge 3-1 courtesy of efforts from sub Joe Broderick(2) and Mark Lewis at a Lodge side who felt they deserved at least a point.  Hitting back was Jordan Jones.
 
Brickfield defeated Llay 6-1, Liam Sklenar was top gun with a hat-trick with Ryan Powell, Mike Daniels and Josh Akehurst adding to their tally.  Sam Ellis responded.
 
Ruthin Town went nap to beat Corwen 5-2.  Phil Roberts(2), Dave Finney, Mark Richards and Iolo Hughes made up their nap hand with Thomas and Yasseem reducing the margin.
 
It was League Cup quarter final time in the UNDER 16  League and in the match of the day clash between Acrefair and Chirk, honours were even after 80 minutes with the score-line 1-1. Josh Russell and Matt Fleet had the match levelled out but Acrefair won the ensuing penalty shoot out 4-2.
 
The deftest of glancing headers from Chris Buxton allowed Borras Park to shade things against a very strong and competent Ruthin Town Under 15’s.
 
The younger Borras Park side though bowed out 2-1 against Garden Village.  Replying for Albion was ??
 
The Park Youth game against Chirk Youth was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
                        
There were five games conteted in the opening round of the Kevin Wright Memorial Cup. The highest scorers were Brymbo who proved too strong for Ruabon Villa 2000 Under 15’s and they had the following players weighing in with double salvo’s. Darryl Lodwick, Gary Whittaker, Gary Dugmore and Jamie Davenport with Nathan Evans mopping up the score. Ross Hicks and Matt Bride replied.
 
Marchwiel United ended up second best against Rhostyllen Youth who went nap through Abbi Nazeem, Gareth Lloyd and a Tibor Bloc treble. Kris Dickenson and Jordan Davies reduced the arrears.
 
Marford and Gresford Albion booked a safe passage with a 4-0result over Coedpoeth United. Grant Hughes(2), Danny McDonald and Rob Ellingford with a rare header were their marksmen.
 
Completing the only other game to be contested, Queens Park beat Bala Juniors 5-2.  Troy Roberts’s fine performance was rewarded with  a hat-trick with Nathan Buckley and Brian Davies completing the spree.
