Text Box: RAM LEISURE WREXHAM YOUTH LEAGUE

Saturday 16th December 2006

Despite the continual down pours, much football was played at the weekend and there was a huge shock in store for the Under 12 Section One overnight leaders Marchwiel United who were ambushed at home by Marford and Gresford Albion who had only previously had one win to their credit. The victory was no fluke either with Albion coming out on top to win 5-3. Making up their nap hand were Matt McCarthy(2), Jack Bunkell, Sam Rogers and Luke Jones. Responding for United were Kyle Elrick(2) and Ryan Clutton.

Borras Rangers failed to contain in form Queens Park who won 3-0 with goals from Ryan Jones(2) and Keegan Jacolev and they now join the leaders on 20 points.

Making it a three way split at the top are Mold Juniors whi snatched a 4-3 verdict at Johnstown. Lee Jones, John Jones(2) and Jack McDermott with a last gasp winner earned Mold the spoils with the Ian Williams(2) and Josh Millington hitting back.

Brymbo Lodge shared wight goals and the points with Park Youth. Matt Turner(20 Ryan Gould and Matt Worral netted the Lodge goals with William Paul and John Paul Lewis earning Park a share of the spoils converting a hat-trick.

In Section Two, Borras Park Albion savaged FC Brickfield 6-1with strikes from Daniel Jones who notched a treble, Lloyd Bagnall struck twice and Adam Mills completing the haul.

At Under 13 level, the key action was in the League in Section Two with all of the Section One games wiped out and if there was ever any doubt who are top dogs then surely their 3-0 verdict at Ruthin Town who were in second spot at the time best emphasises their true pedigree. They are far from being a team of individuals but one youngster who stands out in a crowd is Rob Salathiel who netted all three of the Rhos goals.

Borras Park Albion whitewashed Brymbo Lodge 9-0, leading the rout with two goals apiece were Josh Whitehead, Dale Edwards and Matthew Kaldowski with Kyle Harvey, Jake Purdie and Todd Dobie completing the romp.

Marford and Gresford Albion suffered a shock 3-2 reversal against Coedpoeth United, Mark Lewis notched twice for the hosts but Coedpoeth went one better through Michael Pugh, Kady Seabrook and Paul Hughes who notched with a perfect volley.

Turning to the Under 14 League Section One, Johnstown had a stirring 7-1 victory at Marchwiel United. Jack Griffiths weighed in with a four goal salvo and Saul Daulby converted a hat-trick.

Penycae Youth flopped 5-0 in their own back yard against Bala Juniors.

Ruthin Town hit Brymbo Lodge for six, 6-3 in fact. On target for the hosts was Lewis Isaac, Jac Williams(2), Robbie Cryne, Tomos Jones and Shaun Jones. Replying for The Lodge who probably deserved more from this encounter were Liam Edwards, Andrew Lane and Gavin Roberts.

Turning to Section Two, Borras Park Albion have gone nine points clear at the top after defeating Coedpoeth 2-0 with Shaun Price netting both goals.

Brickfield Rangers shared six goals and the points with Maelor Youth. Liam Sklenar kept his amazing scoring record going by netting the opening two Brickfield goals and Jack Gowing added a third. The powerful partnership of Tom Cusworth and Lewis Williams was much in evidence again adding to a George Griffiths goal to salvage a point from this encounter.

Rhosddu United had a 15-1 drubbing at home against Queens Park who played some real quality football. Ryan Forward bagged a four goal haul, Nathan Smith converted a hat-trick with Sam Jones, Josh Roberts and Bobby Christopher struck two goals apiece with Zac Bailey completing the spree. Matt Wright fired a lone consolation goal for Rhosddu.

In the Under 15 League, leaders Marchwiel United suffered a minor set back and they lost ground to arch rivals Ruthin Town who won this encounter 3-1 with strikes from Ben Taylor(2) and Dion Jones with Jordan Davies reducing the arrears.

Marford and Gresford Albion were sunk 6-4 at home against Park Youth who had the games best player in Deiniol Williams who converted a hat-trick with Luke Roberts and Alex Mills completing their tally with a brace of goals. Lee Parry(2), Connor Speed and Rob Morris from the penalty spot had Albion in with a shout.

Garden Village are just three points off the lead with a game in hand after defeating Llay United 6-2 with goals from Gareth Rogers who struck twice, Duane Jones netting a treble and Michael Wright. Responding for Llay were Josh Hardy and Alan Hume who scored with a brilliant 20 yard effort.

Turning to the Under 16 League in Section One, Borras Park Albion have lifted themselves into second spot with a 4-0 verdict over Ruthin Town with efforts from Ben Hines(2), Nathan Griffiths and Taylor Swarbrick-Harvey.

Completing the days play in the Under 16 League Section Two, Maelor have gone top after collecting a riveting 5-2 victory at Johnstown Youth. Making up their five nap hand were Chris Knowles, Matthew Tudor Owen, Sam Woolham, Chris Bryan and the fit again Matt Quick. Tom Campbell and an og accounted for the hosts response.
