WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

Saturday 9th December 2006

Summary by Phil Jones

The weather wreaked havoc in the RAM League with almost half of the fixtures being wiped out by the weather.

In the Under 16 League - League Cup, Chirk Youth Under 15’s caused a stir by plotting the downfall of Llay Under 16’s in a ten goal thriller. Keiran Williams weighed in with a double salvo, Josh Roberts, Jack Colohan, Josh Langford and Harry Jones made up the spree. Hitting back for Llay with a treble was Jamie Heath and Dan Evison.

Borras Park Albion Under 15’s proved too hot for Bala Juniors who they sent crashing 12-1. Nathan Williams was the days top scorer notching six goals, Ben Hughes converted a hat-trick with Daniel Jones(2) and Casey Walker completing the rout.

In the all in-house club derby clash, FC Borras Park Albion Under 16’s were bombed out 6-0 by Borras Park Albion Under U16’s. Making up the whitewash were Chris Buxton(2), Nathan Griffiths(2), Oliver Rogers and Tyler Harvey-Swarbrick.

At Under 14 League level in Section One, FC Borras Park were able to make it ten straight wins on the bounce as they demolished Penycae Youth 8-1 with strikes from Oliver Post(2), Ryan Davies, Callum White, Liam Humphreys and a Robert Hoosan hat-trick.

Garden Village fell to a heavy 5-0 defeat against Marchwiel United who went nap through Sam Thorley, Loren Mitchell and an Andy Hughes hat-trick.

Johnstown were involved in a nine goal thriller against Ruthin Town which they just shaded 5-4. Jack Griffiths was in inspirational form weighing in with a treble, Sam Roberts added to their tally but it was an exquisite free-kick from Emily Brown that won them the clash. Running Ruthin close were Shaun Jones(2), Jac Williams and Will Bowman.

In Section Two, Broncoed Tigers returned to winning ways to defeat Rhosddu United 4-0 with two goals apiece from Jake Dawson and Chris Thomas.

Queens Park were out shaded 4-3 by Brickfield Rangers who netted twice through ace predator Liam Sklenar, Jack Gowing and Josh Akehurst. Nathan Smith, Ryan Jones and Ryan Forward hit back for the hosts.

There was scant action at Under 13 level but in Section One Penycae remained the only unbeaten side and they defeated Chirk Youth 4-1 with Callum Edge and Ryan A Jones notching two goals apiece. James Critchley fired a lone consolation goal.

Garden Village just nicked a 3-2 verdict against Llangollen Youth with strikes from Tom Seward, Dave Jones and Sam Parry with Richard Griffiths and Ryan Hughes responding.

In Section Two, Kady Seabrook bagged all three of the Coepoeth goals as they sank Brymbo Lodge 3-2 who took a 2-0 lead with efforts from Tom Potts and George Phoenix.

Rhos Aelwyd had one of their toughest rides for some time but they just pipped Brickfield Rangers 1-0 with Josh Griffiths scoring with a close range header from a pin point Ifan Hughes right wing cross.

The two outstanding League Cup ties were decided and it was a day of mixed fortunes. Park Youth edged out FC Borras Rangers 3-2 thanks to John Paul Lewis(2) and David Jenkins with Steve Thomas and Nick Koumas replying.

Redressing the balance were Borras Park Rangers who ended the progress of Mold Juniors, 5-0 in fact. Zach Degale and Tom Duckett netted two goals apiece with Zach Forber completing their nap hand.

In the league at this level in League Section One, Marchwiel United have gone top after beating Acrefair Youth 3-2. Giving them that slight edge were Dylan Gillanders, Jack Edwards and Aled Jones with Lee Morris and Josh Evans reducing the arrears.

Brymbo Lodge were beaten 6-2 in their own back yard by Johnstown who had the man of the match in Dean Williams who fired a four goal salvo. Josh Millington and Matt Smith cemented the win.

Turning to League Section Two, Garden Village kept their title dreams alive by defeating Coedpoeth 4-0 in a game which was switched from a waterlogged Coedpoeth home. Harri Gould with a fine solo goal, Luke Davies(2) and a fine individual strike from Ethan Turton saw Village make it seven wins out of seven.

Borras Park Albion crushed Chirk Youth 8-1 with Daniel Jones and Josh Williams notching a hat-trick apiece with Adam Mills and Shaun
Carter completing the romp. Chirk hit back with a clever long range lob.

Marchwiel Colts were peppered 16-1 by Rhos Aelwyd who had the games best player in Dafydd Williams who was outstanding. Ian Hughes and Colin Jones netted a hat-trick apiece with Scott Reeves(2), Jake Jones, Liam Jones and Daniel Harrison also on target.
