WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

Summary by Phil Jones
 
After looking so invincible this season, Mold Juniors are making life difficult for themselves at the moment and their 3-2 defeat at home to Brickfield may just prove costly.  Netting the winners goals were Kamil Bancer, Scott Watkins and Rhys Hughes with Lee Jones and Adam Roberts replying.
 
Acrefair Youth went down 3-2 at home to Brymbo Lodge who finished their campaign on a high but they let slip a Matthew Turner opener but two goal from Matt Worall gave them victory in the end despite the hosts leading at one stage through Les Morris and Owen Roberts.
 
Park Youth shared four goals and the points with FC Borras Rangers Tyrone Hopson and Chris Walsh bagged the goals with Jamie Pritchard and Josh Williams ensuring a point went the way of Rangers.
                        
In Section Two, Ruthin Town strengthened their grip at the top with a riveting 5-0 win over Chirk Youth, making up their nap hand were Iwan Davies, Osian Davies, Ciran Jones, Tirion Roberts and Stephen Willsdon. 
 
Rhos Aelwyd powered their way past Coedpoeth United, 7-1 in fact, Sam Baldwin converted  a hat-trick, Ian Hughes, Dan Harrison(2) and Jack Jones shared the goals with Ben Williams in fine form.  Rhys Edwards responded for the visitors.
 
Marchwiel Colts were shell-shocked going down 21-1 at home to Garden Village who had Luke Davies in sensational form weighing in wth a nine goal haul. Ithan Turton, Ryan Thomas, Luke Jones, Harry Gould, Jim Lee. Georgio Derosa and Tom Price were all also on the scoresheet.
 
Maelor Youth failed to contain in form Llangollen who hit them for six – 6-3 in fact. Grabbing the visitors goals were Dylan Jones(2), Alan Jones(2), Danny Weir and Clive Thomas. Hitting back were Eddie Robinson(2) and Callum Debicki.
 
Bala defeated FC Brickfield 7-3.  The Lakesiders goals were supplied courtesy of a hat-trick apiece from Dale Davies and John Evans with Curran Bryan completing the spree.  
                        
Turning to the Under 13 League in Section One, Penycae stay in the title frame but have to wait on the remaining results         of the rest. Josh Austin and Ryan A Jones earned them maximum points with a 2-0 win at Park Youth.
                
Llay remain in the picture for top honours though with a sterling 3-0 performance at Garden Village carved out by Ryan Fisher(2) and Luke Bagnall.
 
Maelor Youth were beaten 4-2 at home by Cefn United who were on target through Matt Owen, Kyle Roberts(2) and David May. 
 
In Section Two, the Marford and Gresford Albion game against Brickfield Rangers was a pulsating affair with eight goals and the points being shared. Joe Broderick was in outstanding form and weighed in with a hat-trick to take his goals tally for the campaign to 31.  Tom Hughes added the other with Tom Williams(2), Ryan Thomas and Ashley Salisbury hitting back.
        
Corwen Youth suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Borras Park Albion whose marksmen were Dale Edwards, Matt Kaldowski, Todd Dobie and Corey smart. Firing the lone consolation goal was Tommy Williams.
 
Marchwiel United had no answer to the immaculate performance of the champions Rhos Aelwyd who won this encounter quite convincingly 9-0.  Making up their haul were Rob Salathiel with four goals, Iolo Francis, Danny Gibbons, Taylor Jasper, Dafydd Robertson and Harry Peters but special praise for Rhos’s man of the match Josh Griffiths who unselfishly created four of his sides goals.
 
Kady Seabrook scored for Coedpoeth in their 1-1 draw with Bala Juniors.
        
At Under 14 League level in Section One, match if the day was at Holyhead Road and Chirk knew that a win would have landed them the title so their 3-1 defeat to the hands of second placed FC Borras must have been a huge blow.  An og accounted for the Chirk credit with Liam Humphreys, Malcolm Mbako and Nick Schleising keeping their championship hopes alive.
                
Bala Juniors shared the honours in a 1-1 draw with Marford and Gresford Albion who netted through Ben Rogers but Adam Nolan and Ryan Williams were in awesome form.
 
In Section Two, Champions Borras Park Albion polished off Brickfield Rangers 7-2 in the end after the visitors put up a gallant show. Tom Meyers and Sean Price weighed in with a well contrived hat-trick apiece and Tom Wells completed the scoring with Liam Sklenar and Dylan Jones netting the visitors response.
                        
Sam Evans and Kristian Jones hit back for Llangollen in their 4-2 defeat at home to Maelor Youth who were on target through Tom Cusworth, Alex Thompson-Paynter(2) and Josh Boucher.
 
Queens Park still have an eye on second spot so their 2-2 draw at Coedpoeth will have been a disappointment.  The hosts though are the leagues in form team and have not lost since the turn of the year. Dan Bennion and Adam Skellon bagged the hosts goals with Nathan Smith and Ryan Jones securing a point for The Park.
 
Rhosddu squandered a 3-0 lead created by Lucas Godfrey, Ryan Jones and Matt Wright but what a comeback it was for visiting Llay  United who went on to win this game 4-3 with strikes from Dylan Jones and a Joel Roberts treble.
 
In the UNDER 14  Joe Jones  Supplementary  Cup   Round 2, out go Ruthin Town U13’s who were beaten 4-2 by Penycae Youth U14’.  Ruthin’s marksmen were Iolo Hughes and Phil Roberts.  On target for the winners were Wes Parry(2), Sam Williams and Charlie Byrne.
 
In the afternoon programme in the Under 15 League, Ruthin Town have moved to within five points of overnight leaders but have two games in hand.  They did however look like championship material when walloping Park Youth, who are no slouches, 9-2.  Jack Higgins struck twice and there were singles for Ian Williams, Ben Taylor, Adam Eden, Dylan Jones, Craig Roberts, Ian Williams and Dion Jones.  Park’s response came from an own goal and Alex Mills.
                
Rhostyllen whitewashed Bala Juniors 6-0. Just a Tibor Bloc goal separated the sides at the break but Bala then collapsed. Bloc went on to complete his treble, with Keiran Ansloos, John McGrath and Liandisha Niconde completing the debacle.
 
Ruabon Villa went nap through Ryan Williams who nagged all fibe goals as Villa beat Coedpoeth 5-0.
 
Rhosddu United with just 9 men put up a gallant fight against one of the leagues crack sides Chirk Youth won ran out 6-0 winners in the end with strikes from Simon Williams, Harry Jones and a four goal contribution from Lewis Penrose.
 
Marford and Gresford Albion secured a narrow 2-1 with over Garden Village with efforts from Danny McDonald and a first of the season from Alex Carlisle and hitting back was Gareth Rogers.
 
There was no reported action in the three under 16 games between
Marford and Gresford Albion and Acrefair, Plas Madoc versus Ewloe Harriers or Park Youth versus Borras Park Albion.
 
In Section Two though, there was much excitement at Court Road where Chirk polished off Brickfield 3-0 and the three points enabled them to become champions.  On target were Matt Cook, Nick Jones and Nathan Evans.
                        
Bala Juniors slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Brymbo who just shaded this encounter with efforts from Matt Davies, Gary Dugmore and a last minute winner from Gary Whittaker – nicknames “The Shermanator”.
 
FC Borras Park hit back through Malcolm Wareham and Josh Blakeley against Maelor Youth who deservedly won the spoils with goals from Will Evans(2), Ashley Williams(pen) and Chris Byron.
 
Daniel Parry fired a hat-trick as Garden Village sent Johnstown Youth crashing to a 7-4 defeat. Chris Davis(2), Luke Howells and Aled Hughes were also on target with the hosts reducing the deficit through an OG, Ramone Nelson, Jac Jarvis and Aled Venables.
 
During the previous midweek programme there was much cup action and in the NEWFA UNDER 12 CUP SEMI FINAL, Ruthin Town secured the narrowest of 1-0 verdicts thanks to a lone strike from Harri Owen.
 
In the Under 14 competition first leg, Mynydd Isa went down 3-0 at home to Llangollen who were on target through Max Claridge, Stef Edwards and Sam Ellis.
 
In a second leg encounter, Chirk Youth flopped to a 5-2 reversal against Mold Juniors.  Replying for the losers were Mark Dryden and Tom Jones.
 
In a first leg clash in the Under 16 Cup, Ruthin Town were just out-shaded 2-1 by Borras Park Albion who netted through Nathan Griffiths and Mike Taylor with Sion Davies hitting back for Ruthin.
 
On Deeside, also at the level, the Hawarden Rangers versus Ewloe Harriers clash ended all square at 1-1. Sam Jones notched for Rangers with Carl Thomas replying.
 
Queens Park demolished Plas Madoc 15-0 with hot-shot Sean Skimmins grabbing six of those goals.  Amongst the remaining scorers were Nathan Buckley, Declan Williams and Ben Edwards.
 
There was plenty of league action also, in the Under 12 league, Chirk Youth were sunk 5-2 by Borras Park Albion who went nap through Danny Jones(2), Gareth Bell, Leighton Evans and Lloyd Bagnall. Hitting back was George French and Callum Shepherd.
 
Garden Village are enjoying a purple patch and they defeated Maelor 11-2 and amongst the goal getters with two goals apiece were Ryan Thomas, Ben Williams and Luke Jones. 
 
Turning to the Under 13 League in Section One, Llay maintained their interest in the title with a 7-0 whitewash at Llangollen. Making up the rout were Rob Humphreys and Ryan Fisher who netted two goals apiece, Ben Williams, John Jones and Luke Bagnall.
 
Golas from Ben Allen and class act Amy Wilsher(2) allowed Rhosddu to take maximum points off Maelor Youth who replied through Ryan Walters and John Treewick.
 
Jason Murphy has had a solid season for Park Youth and he weighed on with a double salvo as his side defeated Garden Village 3-1. Ryan Price completed the spree with Jake McDermott responding.
                        
In Section Two, Dale Edwards was in riveting form firing a four goal salvo with Matt Kaldowski, Todd Dobie and Corey Smart completed the scoring as Borras Park Albion won 8-2 at Coedpoeth United who reduced the deficit through Roy Gilmour and Mike Pugh.
 
Bala were comfortably beaten 7-0 by Ruthin Town who won this clash with ease thanks to strikes from Lee Mazurek(2), Kristian Pierce, Les Brophy, Tomos Foulkes, Phil Roberts and Iolo Hughes.
 
At Under 14 League level in Section One, Marford and Gresford Albion were slammed 7-1 by         FC Borras Park who cruised to victory with goals from Ben White(2), Malcolm Mbako(2), Rhys Williams, Liam Humphreys and Rob Hoosan.
 
In the Under 15 League, there was a tough game in store for Rhosddu who were beaten 5-2 at Ruabon Villa 2000.  Responding for the visitors were Matthew Braisdell and Nico Hughes.
 
Marchwiel United shared the honours in a 1-1 draw with Borras Park Albion who hit back through Dean Matthews.
 
In the Kevin Wright Memorial Cup Semi Final, Brymbo beat Park Youth 8-6 in a real high scoring game. Park’s scorers were Deiniol Williams with a treble, Luke Roberts, Aaron Blackwell and Alex Mills.
