WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

 Marchwiel United continue to dominate the proceedings in the Under 12 League Section One   and they trounced Llay United 6-0 in their own back yard. Elliott Gerrard and Sean Plunkett weighed in with a double salvo apiece and completing the haul were Sam Turnbull and Keiran Jones.

Hot on their heels though are Rhosddu United who beat Maelor Youth 3-2.   Andrew Bennett(2) and Jack Edwards fired the Rhosddu goals with Maelor hitting back through Alex Kirk and Matt Williams.

FC Marford and Gresford Albion raised their game to defeat high flying Garden Village 3-2 with strikes from Jack Lee and Kristian Bailey(2) who netted the winning goal.

Penycae Youth had their best result so far and they defeated Coedpoeth United 5-1, making up their nap hand were Iwan Harrison with a treble, Albert Mynit and Luke Peters with Tomos Anderson reducing the deficit.

The Whitegate versus Brymbo Lodge game ebbed and flowed prior to the hosts just edging this encounter 4-3.  Darren Harper and  Cullum Harper shared the hosts goals with Rhys Underhill(2) and Alex Edwards giving Whitegate a close shave.

In Section Two, Ruthin Town still rule the roost after they peppered Marford and Gresford Albion 9-0. Leading the goal binge with a hat-trick was Elis Ifans, completing the rout were Luke Humphreys(2), Alex Webster(2), Tom Jones and Jack Davies.

Seond placed Johnstown were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Borras Park Albion who had Alex Jones and James Roberts(2), making the points safe with Gary Evans and Josh Williams hitting back.

There was a high scoring game at Tower Fields where Llangollen shared ten goals and the points with Brickfield Rangers who went nap through Paul Messhum(2), Toby Grindley(2) and Steve Green.

Cefn United were beaten 6-4 by Borras Park Rangers who had Josh Lindsay, Ross Bignall with a treble, Chris Thatcher and Jack David Roberts hitting the hosts for six.  Reducing the deficit were Adam Davies(2), Dave Walker and Tom Roberts.

Turning to the days big action in the Tesco Cup, Buckley Town showed their worth and they savaged poor old Llay United 7-0.

At Court Road, Brickfield Rangers had their match with Mynydd Isa called off with Isa failing to raise a team.

There was a nine goal thriller at The Moreton where Johnstown were just out-shaded 5-4 by Acrefair. On target for the hosts were Lewis Bickerton Cole, Josh Evans and Adam Hughes(2) with Acrefair securing a safe passage with the help of Jordon Powell(2), Aled Bartley, Joe Roberts and Taylor Clayton.

Llangollen battled for their lives and although they trailed several times, visiting Ruthin Town always had that edge and making the passage safe were Robert Dodd(2), Andy Lewis, Llyr Morris and Guto Jones.  Replying were Will Pluves, Jordon Evans with a fiercely struck free-kick and a double salvo from Jay Bluck.

 A single strike from Harry Powell enabled Marchwiel United to defeat Mold Juniors in a highly competitive and entertaining game.

 Brymbo Lodge proved too strong for hosts Marford and Gresford Albion who took a 2-1 lead through Ryan Foulkes and Lee Price but Lodge came back strong to claim the Albion scalp with efforts from Levi Clemson, Matt Jones(2) and Liam Jones.

Rhosddu United were gallant 6-3 losers at home to Rhos Aelwyd who won 6-3 with strikes from Geraint Andrews(2), Carwyn Davies, Dewi Griffiths(2) and Dafydd Williams.  The hosts reduced the deficit through Jack Lawrenson, Adam Shone and Tom Povey.

Rhostyllen had no answer to Borras Park Rangers who were in rampant form to win this clash 5-0.   Making up the Rangers nap hand were Luke White, Jac Edwards, Ryan Kershaw and Daniel Jarrett(2).

At Under 14 League level in Section One, Brymbo Lodge really are ruling the roost and their 8-0 romp over Corwen has them topping the group by a huge 5 point margin.  Having an awesome campaign is John Paul Weston Lewis who netted yet again a six goal salvo to add to his season’s personal tally. Cementing the success were Matt Turner and Jack Turner.

Bala Juniors upset the Borras Park Albion applecart to win through 3-2, Tomos Roberts(2) and Maben Jones secured the hosts goals with Albion replying through Roy Bagnall and Shaun Carter.

Johnstown Youth were just out muscled 3-2 by FC Borras Park with strikes from Rhys Williams, Zac Butler and Steve Thomas just shading this tight encounter all after Kirt Isaac and Matt Jones had provided the hosts with a cause for optimism.

A gallant Marchwiel Colts were outwitted 15-0 by Rhosddu United who had two class acts in Dave Bowen and Elliott John who equally shared twelve of those goals.  Making up the haul were Harry Cartwright, Dan Jones and Callum Perry.

Andy Barritt, Will Poole and Joe Darlington combined for Park Youth to plot the downfall of Ruthin Town and the 3-0 victory provided them with maximum points against their title rivals who had previously been unbeaten.

Section Two league leadership is being shared Borras Park Rangers and Garden Village.  The reliable Rangers just shaded their affair with Acrefair Youth 1-0,a single strike from Louis Harrington proved decisive.

Garden  Village had a man of the match in Adam Denoven as they powered their way to a 5-1 victory at Marford and Gresford Albion. Luke Davis weighed in with a brace of goals, Tom Duckett, Theo Pumford and Keiran Taylor with a looping header completed the rout.  Hittingback for Albion was Matthew McCarthy.

Llangollen shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Marchwiel United, Ben Wilson and Tom May bagged the hosts goals which were wiped out by Rob Ward and Kyle Ellrick.

Mold Juniors convincingly defeated Chirk Youth 11-1.  Keeper Toby Davies broke the deadlock with an early penalty and also then getting on the score sheet were Adam Offless, Joe Bentley, Owen Traynor and Tom Gillett with Jamie Jones getting a lone response. 

Rhos Aelwyd and Brickfield Rangers shared the honours in a 2-2 draw, Stef Parry and Ian Hughes netted the hosts goals after Rangers had led 2-0 courtesy of a double salvo from Aaron Dymond.

The afternoon programme was dedicated to the preliminary round of the league cup and three games were contested and plenty of goals to show as well.

The best result belonged to Marchwiel United who triumphed 11-3  at plucky Maelor who replied through Jordon Boyd, Adam Williams and James Morrison.

Coedpoeth had age on their side against Brymbo Lodge Under 15’s who the beat 7-0.  Ace predator Tom Redmond converted a treble and completing the whitewash were Nathan Jones(2), Liam Edwards and Tom Parry.

Hot property Joe Broderick who went on to seal his hat-trick put Marford and Gresford Albion 2-0 up at Borras Park Albion who finished the stronger to progress 5-3 with the help of Jordon Cartwright who also weighed in with a three goal salvo  which added to a Taylor Rogers brace.
