WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

Saturday 14th March 2009

Summary by Phil Jones

At long last, Brymbo Lodge have got off the mark with an exciting 6-1 win away from home at Maelor. They were in sensational form to send Maelor Youth tumbling to the ground 6-1 in the Under 12 League Section One. Their marksmen were Alex Edwards(2), Rhys Underhill(2), Taylor Keith and Declan Barber with Zac Williams reducing the deficit.

It was a stroll in the park for Marchwiel United who returned to the top of the table after whitewashing Coedpoeth United 9-0, Joe Williams has had a stunning campaign and he was able to weigh in with a four goal salvo and completing their rout were Keiran Jones and Sean Plunkett with two goals apiece and Jack Jones.

FC Marford and Gresford Albion shared a 2-2 draw with Rhosddu United, Jake Smith and Harry Jones netted their goals with Ashley Roberts and Jordon Stringer responding for Rhosddu.

Garden Village shared four goals and the points with Llay United who took a 2-0 lead through Ben Robinson and George Finlay but Jake Robertson and Brandon Barritt Bagnall hit back.

Whitegate Youth were overpowered 5-0 by Penycae Youth who went nap through Luke Williams(2), Albert Mynit, Iwan Harrison and Callum Williams completed their nap hand.

Turning to Section Two, the best result of the day for me was the 4-2 victory which belonged to Brickfield Rangers who chalked up their first win of the campaign with a 4-2 success at Marford and Gresford Albion. Steve Green opened their account, man of the match Toby Grindley doubled their tally and then Paul Messhum and Dan Geowanowicz chipped in two goals apiece. Hitting back was Tom White with both goals.

Bala Juniors whacked Borras Park Rangers 5-3, giving them the edge were Harry Jones, Steve Jones(2) and Cai Jones(2).

Aiden Smith, James Roberts and Connor Povey combined for Borras Park Albion to beat Llangollen 3-0.

Johnstown Youth were sunk 2-0 in their own back yard by Ruthin Town who were able to strengthen their position at the top with strikes from Connor Lloyd and Luke Humphries.

Match of the day in the Under 13 League in Section One witnessed Marchwiel United steal a march on title rivals Ruthin Town, they have a class act in Nick Hughes who bagged a brace of goal which included a great goal from distance, Harry Powell had provided United with an early lead but Cernyw Evans was quick to cancel it out.

Chirk Youth defeated Borras Park Albion 4-1 who hit back through Jacob Jones.

Llay United were floored 14-0 by Garden Village. Grabbing a hat-trick apiece were Dylan Jones and Jack Peers. Sam Molyneux, Nathan Humphries and keeper Danny Roberts notched two goals apiece with Zak Price and Tyler Roberts completing the spree.

Borras Park Rangers went nap to defeat Brickfield Rangers 5-1, aking up their haul were Ryan Kershaw(2) and Gary Ray converted a treble against his former club. Jordon Davies managed a consolation goal for Brickie.

Jason Edwards reduced the arrears for Maelor Youth who went down 6-1 at home to Brymbo Lodge.

In Section Two, title favourites Acrefair dropped two points and were to a 2-2 draw at Llangollen who had Ryan Walker in top form for the hosts netting both of their goals.

Llangollen Youth held title favourites Acrefair to a 2-2 draw, Ryan Walker netted both of the Llan goals with Acrefair on target through Jordon Powell and Raul Correia.

In the Under 14 League in Section One, a solitary strike from Elliott John allowed Rhosddu United to defeat Bala Juniors 1-0.

Brymbo Lodge took maximum points from their encounter with FC Brickfield, Anthony Morris, Jack Mountford and Liam Williams got their goals with Garyn Eccleston replying.

In Section Two, plucky Marchwiel United were toppled 7-1 by FC Borras Park Rangers, Zac Butler and Rhys Williams grabbed two goals apiece with Steve Thorn, an og and James Pritchard accounting for the rest. Greg Edwards reduced the deficit.

Borras Park Rangers were at their best when defeating Chirk Youth 8-0. Greg Moffat, Matt Thomas and George Ford netted two goals apiece, completing the rout was Zac Forber. The success was soured by the fact James Roberts was carried off with a suspected broken arm.

Coedpoeth United were trounced 12-0 by Brickfield Rangers, Alex Williams was top gun grabbing four goals and completing the debacle were Luke Bowen(2), Dan Smith, Kamil Bancer, Dean Dodd, Josh Williams, Tom Roberts and Dan Smith.

Llangollen defeated Acrefair Youth 5-1.

Dan Harrison and Nathan Williams forged out a 2-1 lead for Rhos Aelwyd against Garden Village who opened and closed the scoring through Tom Duckett and a stunning late leveller through Luke Davies.

In a delayed Under 14 NEWFA Cup game, Borrs Park Albion were dumped out by a strong Ruthin Town side that triumphed 7-1. On target were Harri Owen(2), Nidion Jones(2), Sion Hughes, Oliver Bradley Hughes and Ciran Jones. Grabbing a lone consolation goal was Shaun Carter.

In the afternoon programme in the Under 15 League in Section One, leaders Rhos Aelwyd hammered title rivals Llay United 6-0. Completing the whitewash were Ryan Jones with a hat-trick, Ryan Fisher, Lloyd Marsden and a dream goal from distance from Dafydd Robertson.

Penycae Youth were well and truly floored 11-0 by Brickfield Rangers who had Tom Williams making the best contribution with four goals, Ben Allen fired a hat-trick and completing the rout were Ryan Thomas, Jack Pawley and Ross Gilmore.

Marchwiel United beat Mold Hawks 6-0 and Marford and Gresford Albion did well on the road, they defeated Coedpoeth United 3-0. Their marksmen were Joe Broderick, Owen McGrath and Richard Jones.

In Section Two, Chirk Youth were held to a shock 1-1 draw at Borras Park Albion who wiped out a Jules Woolrich goal by Tom Nash.

Ewloe Harriers were sunk 3-0 by Llangollen who had the upper hand thanks to Lou Jones, Kevin Jones and Mark Valentine.

Rhosddu had no answer to in form Ruthin Town who had Matt Richards(2), Dave Finney and Brandon Keating carving out the win.

Tom Griffiths scored for Park Youth in their 1-1 draw with Corwen Youth who hit back through Yassem.

Under 16 League Section One league leaders Chirk prospered 4-0 and Ryan Lightwood got a hat-trick in that game.

Coedpoeth United held Ruthin Town to a 2-2 draw. Cai Dafydd and Arwyn Edwards got the Ruthin goals and hitting back were Adam Eyenhuyser and Rhys Hughes who at last found his shooting boots.

Harry Robinson gave Maelor Youth hope but edging it for visitors Garden Village were Callum Williams and Tom Seward.

A hat-trick apiece for Liam Sklenar and Josh Jones saw Brickfield pick up a 7-4 success at Marford and Gresford Albion, Jack Gowing completed the spree with his first goal of the campaign.

It looks as is if Borras Park are going to run away with Section Two, they floored Marchwiel United 10-0. On the score-sheet with a four goal haul was Niall Challinor and completing the debacle were Steven Jones(2), Ryan Davies, George Cowell, Michael Hencher and Tom Wells.

Bala were just outshaded 3-2 by Park Youth but it looks as if Llangollen have shattered Venture’s title dreams as they clinched a 4-2 victory over their visitors. Ryan Anderson, Sam Evans, Rhys Williams and James Claybrook bagged the winners goals with Nathan Smith weighing in with a double salvo for Venture.
