WREXHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH LEAGUE

Saturday 3rd November 2007

Summary by Phil Jones

The days top action was in the Under 16 NEWFA CUP ROUND ONE and most games appeared to go with form. A double salvo from man of the match Liam Sklenar couldn’t prevent Brickfield Rangers from bowing out 4-2.

Out go Llangollen Youth also, they were sunk 10-3 by Borras Park Albion.

Marchwiel Youth were on target through Jack Griffiths but goals from Andy Morris and Josh Roberts enabled Chirk Youth to safely reach Round 2.

Marford and Gresford Albion could only must ten players so they failed to rise to the occasion and were dumped out 3-2 by Mynydd Isa Youth who quickly took a 3-0 lead. Ben Stritch and Rob Morris(pen) offered the hosts some hope but Isa went safely through after a late scare.

Nathan Evans and Michael Rowlands converted a hat-trick apiece as Rhos Aelwyd booked a safe passage into the next round after they defeated Maelor Youth 8-2. Dwayne Jones(2) completed the romp with Mark Mottershead and Tom Cusworth reducing the arrears.

Venture Community were undone by Rhostyllen Youth who could well turn out to be the surprise package in this competition. Livewire Mark Burrows is enjoying an excellent campaign and his fine contribution was rewarded with a hat-trick. Keiran Ansloos and John McGrath completed their nap hand success with Zac Bailey did manage a deserved consolation goal for Venture.

In the Under 12 League in Section One, the Acrefair juggernaut goes rolling along and they had a fantastic double figues success to defeat previously unbeaten Brickfield Rangers 10-3. ALED Bartley was amongst the days top guns weighing in with a six goal salvo, Deioniol Parfitt bagged a brace of goals with Dan Ronerts and Jordon Powell completing the romp. Hitting back for Brickie were Cameron Woolnough(2) and Gary Ray.

Brymbo Lodge rightfully hang on to second spot, they whacked Chirk Youth 7-1 with strikes from Levi Clemson, Keiran Jones, Matt Jones, Sean Lewis and a hat-trick from sub Ryan Johns all after the visitors had taken an early lead.

There were goals galore at FC Garden Village who were eventually sunl 9-6 at home by Whitegate Wanderers who had the games best player in Jordon Davies who notched five of his sides goals. Making up the rout were Jay Davies(2), Brad Sandcroft and Zack Trow.

In Section Two, Borras Park Rangers and Garden Village are setting a blistering pace. Rangers thrashed derby rivals Borras Park Albion 8-0 with efforts from Lloyd Copeland, an OG, Ryan Curshaw, Luke White, Lewis Edwards, Aaron Rafferty, Jack Edwards and Scott Jones.

The Village whitewashed Llay United 15-0 in their own back yard. Sam Malyneux was best on view weighing in with a five goal salvo, Jack Peers netted four goals with Macauley Hart(2), Zack Price(2), James Gardener, and Ross White also appearing on the scoresheet.

Sub Mike Constanzo converted a hat-trick for Aelwyd and completing their romp were Dewi Griffiths(2), Carwyn Davies, Will McKnight, an OG and Jake Allen. Poor young Tom Povey notched a treble for the visitors but still finished on the losing side.

At Under 13 level, we have new league leaders in the shape of Rhos Aelwyd who floored second placed FC Borras Park Rangers 6-2 and they had a hat-trick hero in Ian Hughes, Steff Parry, Dan Harrison and Hywel Williams completed their spree with Jack Griffiths and Keegan Jakolevs.

Chirk Youth were whitewashed 6-0 by Johnstown Youth, Matt Smith and Matt Jones notched two goals apiece with Deano Williams and Josh Millington completing the rout.

The Coedpoeth versus Brymbo Lodge game finished goal-less but it was anything but a dour affair.

Brickfield have lifted themselves into third spot and a scintillating 7-1 victory at Llangollen. Kamil Bancer is hot property this term and he weighed in with a treble. Dan Sheriff struck twice with Alex Powell and Ryan Hughes completing their tally.

FC Brickfield suffered a 10-0 whitewash at home to Park Youth who had Tyrone Hopson in riveting form weighing in with a four goal salvo. John Lewis(2), Joel Darlington and a Chris Walsh hat-trick added to the agony.

Marford and Gresford Albion had no answer to rampant Garden Village who won this encounter quite convincingly. Man of the match Harri Gould bagged a brace of goals with Tom Duckett also adding a ‘double’ before Adam Denoven converted a long range free-kick and Keiran Taylor made the points safe.

Under 14 League Section One leaders Ruthin Town were on top of their game again best exampled by their 7-1 slamming of Marchwiel United. Josh Davies was in inspirational form converting a hat-trick with Matt Richards, Kristian Pierce and Brandon Keating completing the spree.

Corwen Youth defeated Penycae Youth 2-0 with goals from Gary Garth and Tommy Thomas.

Maelor Youth flopped to a 6-0 reversal at home to Bala Juniors.

Rhosddu United failed to contain unbeaten Borras Park Albion who collected a comfortable 4-0 success wth strikes from Corey Smart, Josh Whitehead, Taylor Rogers and Matt Kadlowski.

Section Two league leaders slipped up and lost their unbeaten tag and they fell to a shock 4-3 reversal against Brickfield Rangers who took all three points after goals flowed from Matt Smith and Tom Williams who notched two goals apiece. Hitting back for the hosts were Matt Worral and Ryan Fisher(2).

Mold Juniors slammed Coedpoeth United 8-0,

Jason Murphy and Aaron Williams were the Park marksmen in a 2-2 draw with Llangollen.

Only the one game went ahead in the Under 15 League Section One and it involved Coedpoeth collecting a 5-3 success at Marford and Gresford Albion. Making up their nap hand were James Rogers with a treble and a brace from Rhys Hughes. Albion reduced the arrears through Ben Rogers, Will Thomas and Mark Lambert.

There was not a great deal of action in Section Two but we did manage to witness the best result of the day which involved bottom club Rhosddu without a point on the board defeating third placed Chirk Youth.Luke Harrington was the Rhosddu hero bagging the winner in this long overdue success.

Sean Price and Callum White enabled Garden Village to defeat Broncoed Tigers 2-1 who responded through Chris Duffy.

Park Youth have gone equal top after flooring Johnstown 5-2. Making up their nap hand were Ryan Brimfield, Josh Davies and Jake Hopley with a hat-trick. Responding were Saul Dobie and Sam Roberts with a stunning free-kick.
